WHAT WE DO

At Physio Fitness, we specialise in both common everyday and sporting musculoskeletal injuries. We have got you covered for everything from neck pain down to big toe pain, and from sciatica to muscle sprains. Our dedicated team of therapists will take you through our five stage continuum to get you back to feeling even better than before your injury, the five stages are:

  1. Assessment
  2. Injury management.
  3. Rehabilitation.
  4. Corrective exercise and movement optimisation.
  5. Personal development/training.

First we will listen while you describe the history of your injury or condition. Next we’ll complete a full injury assessment, including a postural assessment and functional movement analysis. Then we will diagnose your injury.  We will explain everything in simple terms to ensure you understand, not only about the injury or condition you have but how it has likely occurred.

Then we will discuss injury management; firstly how we need to protect the injured site and then how we can decrease pain, optimise the opportunity for the damaged tissues to begin to repair and how to  make day to day life easier whilst going through recovery.

We will then discuss with you, a range of possible treatments available, how they can benefit your recovery  from the injury or condition and then put together a personalised treatment plan.

Properly prescribed and managed rehabilitation is a key aspect to good and timely recovery from an injury or condition. This can be carried out both at home and during your session; you will receive a tailored rehabilitation programme to suit your circumstances, to ensure we get you on the road to recovery straight away.

Our next and possibly most important stage, is the prevention and aftercare of your injury or condition. This is done with our corrective exercise programme. Within this phase, we work with you to correct postural mis-alignments and/or muscular imbalances. Not only will we help prevent your injury reoccurring, we also offer aftercare to ensure you are back to full fitness and stay that way.

Our final stage, often most applicable to sports persons, athletes and dedicated fitness people, is the personal development/training phase.  Following a period of injury and the journey through the rehabilitation, it is likely that your level of fitness, neuro-muscular coordination and, sometimes, confidence is less than prior to the injury. We tailor a personal development programme that safely progresses you back to the level of fitness etc required for you to re-join your team or your training regime safely and with the ability to complete the session without a reoccurrence of the injury.

At Physio Fitness although we believe the correct diagnosis, the necessary treatments and a good level rehabilitation is very important.  We also pride ourselves in our approach to ‘future proofing’ our clients with the focus of prevention over cure. We believe that preventing an injury is more important than curing one. We strive to achieve this with our range of health and wellness for the future options, including education on simple exercises you can do at home, from an arm chair or whilst out and about. We help you to make good lifestyle choices to keep your body in good condition – fit to pass its MOT every year.

We look forward to working with you in the near future.
